It's like breaking the fourth wall for a game, combining outside elements into your gaming experience. You really think a thousand years from now, space pilots wouldn't have holoscreen entertainment for long distance travels? This honestly adds just another level to my overall immersion. What are you talking about? When mining or doing trade runs, exploration, passenger missions, OVR drop is amazing! You can set 3D position, transparency and even angle to make whatever video you are watching look like a perfect holoscreen that's built into your ship! I have mine set to fade almost completely transparent when I look away, and then 50% transparency when I look up at where my screen hangs in my canopy. Maybe my message isn’t so much “Fuck Fdev” but FUCK! C’mon FDev!

So this just sort of spewed out after a few beers and a lot of bottled up frustration. Are there really 100 people working on this game now? Don’t get me wrong, the game still gives me plenty of enjoyment, and there’s no other space game with their flight models, but it’s been back to back disappointment recently.

Why can’t I go to an engineer and grind a series of missions for them, where at least I know what I’ll be consistently rewarded with, without having to rely on a garbage tactic like board flipping ? Yea there’s plenty of bitching going on, but it’s not like the community has been short on suggestions that could remedy these issues that have existed for quite some time now, it’s a lack of proper implementation and decision making on fdevs part.

To top it all off, all the things you suggest still rely on a random chance of getting the desired material. If you want to borrow these pieces and are in the Nashville area, leave a comment below and get in touch with them.Of course I do those things, but after spending 40 hours to fully engineer my first ship, I realized USS grinding (when the rng gods are halfway favorable) is still the fastest way to get the mats, and when it’s a time sensitive task like changing a few weapons out for a balanced PVE build that can hold its own in PVP in order to assist an allied faction who is actively coming under outside attack, you’d think that would be doable in a couple after work play sessions. They’ve ended up using these set pieces in a few different looks now as seen in the photos.

In later photos, the Pixel bars were controlled out of PVP into madmapper, and later run by Arkaos Media Master Pro and their Martin M1.

They also added some thin wood trim pieces over the Coroplast to give a more finished look.Īll the LED tape was controlled by Elation Elar Driver 8 decoders, and run into their Martin M1. The front was covered in natural Coroplast which they’ve found to be the cheapest translucent material.

They lined the backs in reflectix to give a more even spread from the LED tape that they lined the sides with. The set was built by cutting arches in pieces of plywood and then attaching them to 2×4 structures. After toying with a few ideas in Sketchup, this is what they came up with. Tim Wagoner and Paul Holst from Long Hollow Baptist Church in Hendersonville, TN bring us this awesome, versatile set.įor this set they wanted something that filled their large stage but wasn’t distracting.
